What a great game. Last Sunday, Germany and Spain played the final match of the Euro Cup 2008 Championship in Wien. Spain hadn’t lost a game and only looked weak against Italy which ended in penalty shots. Germany looked good against Poland and really good against Portugal, but struggled with Croatia and Turkey. But if you would have asked experts, both Spain and Germany would have been the more common answers as to who was going to win this competition. The final score was 1-0 in Spain’s favor, scored in the first half. Germany had moments of strength, but Spain was stronger and on this day, the stronger and overall better team won. Fernando Torres, who struggled to find his own place in this tournament, came through for Spain after having created many chances for himself. They call him El Niño.
Thanks Germany for taking us this far. We’ll see you in two years on the World Stage.
